Vivienne Westwood Unveils Red Collection in London and her Chivas Regal 18 Unveiled at After Party

Dame Vivienne is the iconic fashion designer based in London. She holds her shows at all the major fashion centres in Europe. But her show last Sunday was special. She unveiled her Red Label Fall/Winter 2011 collection on the third day of London Fashion Week. It was a busy day for her and her husband Andreas Kronthaler who is also the Creative Director for Vivienne Westwood. Earlier in the day they had done a fitting for Helena Bonham Carter for the Academy Awards.

Vivienne’s show was larger than life. The location of the show was equally grand Royal Courts of Justice at London’s Strand. It is a gothic cathedral like setting which was very appropriate for the Red Collection show as it is inspired by Lewis Carroll’s “Alice through the looking glass”.  There were dresses with tartan prints, dresses with mismatched seams, oversized hats and over the top makeup. Jo Wood, Paloma Faith, Boy George, Boris Becker, Nick Rhodes, and contemporary artist Tracy Emin were some of the prominent names who witnessed the grand show.

All of them were wowed by the impressive production and the unique collection. They were impressed by the ability of the collection to surprise. They all found it to be exquisitely beautiful. The after party was a seated dinner hosted by Chivas Regal at a mansion in Belgravia. Dame Vivienne has entered into a collaboration as a designer for a limited edition Chivas Regal 18 year old ultra premium whisky. Vivienne Westwood Chivas Regal18 was unveiled prior to the dinner.
