Montblanc Unveils Its 20th-Anniversary Patron Of Art Edition Pens
Actors and filmmakers have the Oscars. Musicians have their Grammys. But what about the men and women who lurk in the sidelines, providing money and time to encourage art and artistic moments? In 1992, Montblanc instituted an award to celebrate these people – the Montblanc de la Culture Arts Patronage Award. Apart from the international recognition, award winners will get Montblanc’s Patron of Art Limited Edition pens.
On the 20th anniversary of this award, Montblanc is paying tribute to an ancient Roman, a man named Gaius Cilnius Maecenas, regarded as the original patron of the arts. Maecenas financially supported the likes of Horace and Virgil. Montblanc’s 20th-anniversary Patron of Art Edition pens are the Patron of Art Edition Gaius Cilnius Maecenas Limited Edition 4810 and Limited Edition 888.
Montblanc’s Patron of Art Limited Edition handcrafted fountain pens are highly sought-after. The manufacturing tools are destroyed after every edition to ensure exclusivity. Thus, these beautiful pens gain the stature of art.
The Patron of Art Limited Edition pens are presented to the winner and the international jury of the Montblanc de la Culture Arts Patronage Award. The award was instituted in the year 1992 and is currently presented in 12 nations. This year’s winner, the Prince of Wales, has served as patron or president of over 20 organisations that dabble in the performing arts.
Being the 20th anniversary, this year is special. Montblanc will be exhibiting all 20 Patron of Art Edition fountain pens since the institution of the award. Past winners and jury members are to attend the launch of this exhibition.
