Forever 21 Finds a Place among Luxury Brands on Fifth Avenue in New York
Retail chains shops are rubbing shoulders with high end luxury brands in more than one way. While some retailers have tied up with leading brands to sell their exclusive collection, Forever 21 has actually gone ahead and found a space on Fifth Avenue in New York which is known for exclusive shops of luxury brands like Zara, Gap, H & M. It is very interesting development indeed, that too on the eve of upcoming holiday and festive season.
Forever 21 has rented the same place which earlier belonged to high-end Japanese department store Takashimaya. It is a brave move on the part of Forever 21 because the address lures only super-rich luxury shoppers. But who knows some of them may just drop in out of curiosity to check out jackets and shoes selling as cheap as $19.99 or $25.
Apparently, the shop which is very spacious and flaunts awesome collection has been taken on lease for next six months only. So we have to wait and watch if it really sets a new trend or not.
In the context of present economic turmoil, opening of populist Forever 21 store will intrigue many. What are we heading for? Does this mean luxury is losing its high-end? Or retailers are moving towards high-end? Whatever it is, variety always adds to shoppers delight!
