FarFetch Store to Promote British Fashion During Olympics
As London Olympic Games of 2012, is going to happen in the very near future, British Fashion Council would like to promote British designed products from leading fashion designers. The design excellence will strengthen UK’s reputation and such activities result in economic growth and also create an impact on fashion industry which will enhance its creative, cultural and international reputation. During the Olympics, British fashion would be promoted by FarFetch.com, to give an opportunity to shop designer clothing. Throughout the duration of Olympics, only British brands will be focussed.
Paul Brine, spokesperson of the website says that British fashion brands are gaining popularity globally. So during this event farfetch.com will do its level best to bring forward British designer clothing.
British Fashion Council’s, chief executive Caroline Rush says that in September Fashion week, the council will announce the best designed products for international audience. Fashion brands such as Stella McCartney and Mulberry are also doing their job very well. Olympic Games and Olympic venue construction is going on, which is once in a life time chance for the hosting country. Host nations should set standards for successful delivery of Olympics which will give London an opportunity to showcase itself to the international spectators. McCartney’s designs will make the teams look great and Stella McCartney will watch the performances and even retail a range for the public who will buy.
However, I do not understand why one must try so hard to put London and Britain on the fashion map or otherwise. London surely is a fashion destination alongside Paris, New York and Dusseldorf.
