Chanel Cruise Collection 2011-12 Fashion Show Sets Mood for Cannes Film Festival

Cannes film festival is not just about movies alone, it is about everything that has to do with movies including fashion, luxury, luxury brands and celebrities.  So, luxury brand Chanel’s Cruise Collection was the apt prelude to 64th Cannes Film Festival. Awesome collection is an ode to Cannes, Hollywood and legendary fashion styles of 50s. According to Chanel’s renowned in-house designer Karl Lagerfeld “It’s about dressing down these sumptuous looks, about easy elegance”. The fashion catwalk was also prelude to the red carpet walk of celebrities attending Cannes, so it is time and mood for the display of elitist and luxurious high end clothes, jewelry and other accessories at the French Riviera.

Apparently Chanel Cruise Collection 2011-12 is inspired by the era of 50s where glamour and style statements were more contextual and natural. It consists of tweed suits, slim silhouettes, narrow jackets, colourful leather, floral print sweater, embroidered crystal trims and large shorts. Many renowned names of fashion and glamor world attended the show. Apart from HRH the Princess of Hanover, Chanel brand ambassadors Anna Mouglalis, Blake Lively and Vanessa Pradis and actresses like Clemence Poesy, Marine Vacth and others graced the occasion.

The fashion show was held at Hotel Cap Eden-Roc and the blue Mediterranean Sea in the back ground added much beauty to the show. Chanel doesn’t need to ride on the mood of Cannes Film Festival but French Riviera and Cannes Festival is appropriate place and time to hold this kind of fashion show.
