You Can Help Update the Master List of Worldwide Hotel Openings in 2011

The hospitality industry is directly related and affected by the ups and downs of the economy. They have faced the brunt of the economic downturn triggered by the collapse of some major banks. But the cycle seems to have turned full circle and the world economy is truly and definitely on the path of recovery. The economies of China and India are registering very rapid growth for economies of their size and the older developed economies have also stabilized and regaining some of their robust health. If you see the Master List of 2010 Openings of new hotels around the world you will not need any further argument to prove that world economy is reviving.

As mentioned earlier the luxury brands are focusing on China to get a share of their growth. It is happening with the hotels as well. The hotel rush that started last year continues well into this year with brands like Marriott and Hyatt opening like gangbusters all over. India will also see lots of Starwood, Marriott and Hyatt properties in 2011. The hotel revival is happening all over Europe and particularly in London to be ready for the Olympics in 2012.

This list here is just the starting point. It will be updated as and when the information comes in. It is not the final or a definitive list. We will expect you to help us update the list and make it more comprehensive. If you have authentic information about a major hotel opening this year that is not on the list or if you can confirm that the dates mentioned in the list are different from the actual proposed dates please put them in comments below. The updated list as on date is given below:
