Yotel Promises Excitement and Luxury to New York at Affordable Prices

London based Pod hotel chain Yotel is ready to open its first hotel in the US in New York. It will also be their first expansion outside of airport location. With its 669 cabin rooms it is going to be the largest hotel opening for New York in 2011. The massive, full service hotel is scheduled to open on June 1. Their pricing strategy is going to be very competitive. They aim to sell their small but stylish rooms at reasonable prices.

The new hotel is located a few blocks west of Times Square on West 42nd Street and 10th Avenue in a brand new, mixed-use building. The hotel is designed to be a radical change for travelers who are visiting New York. The New York travel and hotel market is very competitive as it plays host to a wide range of travelers. You can always find deals for New York hotels, and mind you, some of the deals in New York are very attractive. But Yotel is coming with an unusual concept. They are trying to replicate their airport hotel model in a city situation.

Talking to the press Gerard Greene, the CEO of Yotel confirmed that the introductory rates for their rooms in New York would be $149. This rate is applicable for bookings being done till September 5. Simon Woodroffe, founder of the chain said that Yotel will bring a unique mix of fun, excitement and luxury to New York and all at an affordable price. The hotel’s rooms will be a compact 16 square meters, featuring luxury bedding, “monsoon rain” showers, purple mood lighting, a flat screen TV and complimentary wifi. The breakfast is complementary and a unique feature is coffee machines on every floor with free coffee.
