Gone are the days when word of mouth and paper advertising was used. Most of the companies now like to advertise through internet. Not only advertise but also sell products online. Following suite the fashion mogul Prada has decided to launch their e-store in US starting June 1st of this year.
Well known brands like Yves Saint Laurent and Gucci also offer online shopping directly off the main site rather than sending them to department store websites. In the beginning luxury websites were there just to promote the brand but now the shoppers can actually shop online.
Designed to capture a boutique experience and e-gift feature that lets you order presents online that can be delivered to the recipient’s home with of course a personalized card the e-store is here to stay. The site also features videos of runway shows, short films, lookbooks and ad campaign images.
But here is the unfortunate part. You can’t buy Prada clothing on the site. But the good part is that you can still pick up things like purses, accessories and eyewear. Who knows after a while you might be able to pick up clothes too.
