Trinidad and Tobago gearing to become the fashion hub of the Caribbean

Caribbeans have a certain swagger in everything that they do. So fashion and style comes naturally to them. Making note of this point, the Caribbean entertainment company Antilia is endeavouring to make Trinidad and Tobago, the fashion hub of the region. It has started by organising a “weekend experience” at The Carlton Savannah from May 28-30th.

This three day gala will be hosted by the famous male supermodel Tyson Beckford who has walked the ramp for some of the most renowned name in the fashion world. The event will feature creations of fashion designer Meiling, who will debut her “Noir” collection. The stunning former Miss Trinidad and Tobago, Anya Ayoung-Chee will also be showcasing her equally stunning designs.

Simon Khan, CEO of Antilia, has said that many more exciting details regarding the event will soon be made public. He went on to say that, “We are aiming to position Trinidad and Tobago as the hot new international weekend destination of fashion shows and private parties.” By hosting such events, the Caribbean fashion industry hopes to benefit due the media attention it garners, and the platform it will give to designers and manufacturing companies alike.
