The Plaza, New York Becomes the First Hotel in the World to Offer iPads in All its Rooms

I needn’t say that iPads have become a rage everywhere. The Plaza Hotel has also incorporated this Apple gadget and will be the first hotel in the world to provide its guests services and room controls to all its guests using iPads and Intelity‘s ICE (Interactive Customer Experience) software. Guests are received with a welcome video on their iPads and from then on, the they are able to control their entire hotel experience through this gadget.

At a simple touch of the screen, guests can order room service, make restaurant reservations, communicate directly with the concierge, request wake-up calls, get NYC destination guides, and even scan through airline schedules and print boarding passes. This device also replaces the digital panels used to control lights and air conditioning. But all this does not mean that the iPads will replace the human touch at the hotel.

The use of iPads is optional. It is just a way of bringing a novel technology to the guests. The iPads also are pre-uploaded with leisure and business friendly applications apart from an array of other services. The Plaza first started to offer iPads to guests at its restaurant, and following its popularity decided to extend this service.
