The Only Watch L.U.C Engine One Tourbillion Unveiled by Chopard for Its 150th Anniversary

Chopard, Swiss luxury timepiece manufacturers have unveiled a special limited edition of watches, which are designed to resemble an engine block called the L.U.C Engine One Tourbillon model to commemorate the anniversary of 150th year. The inspiration is taken from the world of automobiles and to own a luxury watch from Chopard, means to own a precious watch of 150 years dedication and experience.

Chopard unveiled At Only Watch Charity Auction, to benefit the research on Duchenne muscular dystrophy. The Only Watch L.U.C Engine One Tourbillion is powered by a trademark L.U.C Caliber 1TRM ‘motor’. The mechanical hand-wound tourbillon movement is mounted on silent blocks which absorb shocks and three lever arms are held in the middle of the case, this tourbillion movement makes them display the seconds, minutes, hours, and the power reserve lasts for 60 hours. The engine block is exclusively designed, developed, and comes with Chopard signature.

The water-resistant, DLC titanium case features polished and matt finishes with lugs which ensure a perfect fit and give comfort for the wearer and the case is engraved with “Only Watch 2011” on the side.

The dial is inspired by motorsports and go with the theme of transparency. The characteristic feature of the L.U.C collection is numerals of Arabic and the hours which are engraved in an exotic manner. There is a yellow tint below the sapphire crystal which is glare-resistant. The strap is of alligator leather in black which is hand-sewn gives the perfect finish to touch.  The model evokes timeless passion which is dedicated to technology, design, performance, precision, elegance, and refinement.
