The Fastest Honda F1 from 2006 Sold at Bonhams Auctions

Bonhams  Collectors’ Motor Cars sale at Silverstone was a big hit if you go by the enthusiasm of the buyers and the number of interesting cars on offer. Bonhams has a track record of offering some of the rarest and most exclusive cars at their auctions. And this time was no exception. In fact, some of the collectors and motor racing enthusiasts were able to drive away in some of the most enviable wheels that have ever been created.

Though it was not the most expensive item, but one mean machine at this auction which generated a lot of interest amongst the bidders was the 2006 Honda F1. Yes it is the same machine which came to be known as the Bonneville 400. It is the car that holds the current world land speed record for a formula one racing car. It had achieved a maximum speed of 397 kph at the Bonneville Salt Flats in the USA.

The fastest Honda F1 was bought for a much over the estimate price of $79,645. There were other very interesting cars in this years auction. There was the Datsun 260Z Super Samurai Racing car. Fondly referred to as the ‘Big Sam’ it fetched a big price of $122,545.
