The Annual FT Business of Luxury Summit 2011 to be Held in Lausanne, Switzerland

Luxury Society is at the forefront of the movement to bring executives and thought leaders from the industry together and engage on important issues facing the industry and find ways and solution to overcome the impediments in sustained growth of the industry as a whole. This is the third year running that they are partnering with the most important conference in the industry’s calendar, the annual FT Business of Luxury Summit. The panel of speakers, like previous years, will include some of the big names from both luxury and economics who will talk and exchange ideas on the most pressing issues in our industry.

Luxury Society has announced some specially discounted packages for their members to attend the upcoming FT in Lausanne, Switzerland on June 5-7. Vanessa Friedman, the renowned fashion editor of the Financial Times is the brain behind the event and is handling the details of the event to make it a grand success and really useful for the industry. She explained that this year it has come to Switzerland as every other year it comes back to Europe after going out of Europe for a year. Last year the event was held in Los Angeles but this year it has come to Europe and Switzerland was a natural choice as it is the home of luxury.

There would be several speakers this year who are not typical luxury speakers but who will stress on the economic angle of the business which is very relevant today as we have just begun to come out of the recession. Their points of view will be new for the industry and very useful under the circumstances. There will be discussions on counterfeiting which is an important issue for the luxury industry. Apart from the usual brands and brands image there will be discussions on pricing strategy and the most appropriate way forward under the present conditions. It is going to be a lively conference and no serious player of the luxury industry can afford to miss it.
