Kimberly McDonald is a known jewelry designer. In fact she has an avid celebrity following that includes Sarah Jessica Parker, Kate Hudson and Brooke Shields. Her works have been known to feature geodes, agates, quartz, diamonds and semi precious stones. She has stood up now in support of the National Wildlife Federation’s efforts to protect the marine life following the Gulf oil spill.
To support the effort Kimberley has created a new limited edition “Sea Turtle Macrame Bracelet” collection. She has created only 50 pieces of hand crafted Sea Turtle macramé bracelets and 100% of the proceeds will go towards NWF’s efforts to contain the wildlife crisis developing in the Gulf. McDonald hopes that her new collection will inspire people to get involved and take the state of our environment seriously and the $100,000 she is raising would help protect some species like the sea turtle.
The bracelet is made of 18K recycled gold, reclaimed diamonds and hand woven silk macramé. The bracelets will be priced in the range of $2,000 to $2,500. They will be available in the Marshs’ and Mitchell’s stores who have also forgone their profits on the bracelets as a show of support for the great cause.
