Last month saw the auction of Roy Rogers’ mineral collection. Rest of the contents will be auctioned off by ‘Old West Auction’ on June 25-27, and Christie’s on July 14 and 15 in association with High Noon Western Americana.
Brian Lebel’s Old West Auction will be selling the film, television and personal firearms collection of Roy Rogers and Dale Evans on June 25-27 at the Denver Merchandise Mart. The Auction will honor Roy’s famous Colt Single Actions and his many trap, skeet and hunting guns. It also includes his very first belt and double holster rig, his gold plated 101 Ranch revolvers, one of Dan Evans only guns, a pearl handled Colt, the shotgun he bought off Clark Gable, and antique, modern and commemorative firearms.
Artifacts like his favorite hunting hat, 1964 Lincoln Continental Convertible, last motorcycle he owned before retiring from riding and 1982 V45 Honda with only 2,000 miles on it.
Included in Christie’s will be everything from saddles, personal photos, awards to the famous Nellybelle jeep from the 1950’s TV show and even the horse Trigger. High Noon Western Americana tried to place Trigger, Buttermik (another horse) and Roger’s dog names bullet with a national museum but due to recession museums did not have funds available to expand their permanent collection
