One of the foremost names in the field of high end auctions and the world’s largest car collector auction house, RM Auctions has now announced that it will be bringing in a host of remarkable vintage cars for the ‘Quintessentially English’ sale that is scheduled to take place in June 23rd, 2011 during the and the Concours d’Elegance. This one of a kind auto auction will feature some of the biggest names in the automobile industry such as the likes of Aston Martin, Jaguar, Rolls-Royce etc. that have been at the center of luxury automobiles for years.
Making the cut as one of the moat alluring of all entries slated for the auction is the stunning 1926 Rolls Royce Experimental Phantom 1 Continental, ‘10 EX’. The 10 Ex was the very first Phantom 1 Continental prototype that featured the famous ‘Torpedo’ coachworks from Barker. The 10 EX was initially termed as ‘CJ Sportscar’ and became the platform for three later models called, 15 EX, 16 EX and 17 EX. However, Phantom 1 Continental, ‘10 EX’ was the only prototype model that was preserved by Rolls Royce for over six years and was later loaned to the Lawrence of Arabia. The Phantom 1 Continental, ‘10 EX’ is expected to fetch about $1.33 million when it goes under the hammer. RM Auctions has also lined a plethora of exquisite vintage cars for this high end car auction including a 1929 Bentley Speed Six “Le Mans” VDP Tourer, 1937 Jaguar SS 100 2.5 Litre Roadster, 1955 Bentley R Type Continental Fastback and 1961 Sunbeam Harrington Alpine Coupe.
