Richard Gere’s Country Inn Joins R&C as He Becomes Their Ambassador

Richard Gere and his actress wife Carey Lowell are owners of the Bedford Post, an eight-room country inn about an hour’s drive north of New York City. The inn is about a year old and has become a member of the R&C group. Relais & Chateaux is an association of small luxury hotels and restaurants around the globe and Richard Gere has become its brand ambassador for the year 2011.

Gere clarified that it was not his aim to become part of any association but it was flattering never the less. He said that he had developed the inn along with his wife and a partner as a community gathering spot, yoga studio and luxury lodging. It was a coaching inn close to where they live and had fallen into disrepair. The actor said that he has created the kind of place he would like to go to eat, meet and stay.

Richard Gere is happy to be part of R&C as they want you to create your own experience … a soulful experience instead of regimenting all the members. There are now over 500 hotels and restaurants around five continents which are members of R&C. Bradford Post will also be marketed through the R&C website.
