Regina Rubino’s work is known worldwide, and her latest creations are the new RIA and Balsan restaurants at the Elysian, which happens to be Chicago’s first home grown luxury hotel. But these two places are so different that one would never guess that they are the work of the same person.
She says: “It is always an exciting challenge to create a brand identity that has an emotional and intellectual impact. This project was particularly fulfilling because each restaurant had its own rich and unique appeal. I felt like I was in the presence of two wonderful personalities. Expressing the essence of each was a privilege.” RIA, which means the place where land means the shore is an elegant upscale restaurant with international cuisine and an impressive wine list. The Balsan on the other hand is a 1920s-style Paris Bistro.
Regina Rubino’s company IMAGE: Global Vision have given their touch of creativity to every aspect of these two places. The outcome is truly special. When one enters these places one can feel the detailing and the degree to which each and every thing is associated with their chosen themes. For example at RIA, even the food captures the sensuousness of the land meets ocean theme.
