Real Madrid Gets Its Own Luxury Resort on an Island

You could see many artificial islands built for the uber rich recently. Dubai built an island resort, while Qatar is working on its manmade island resort, and Azerbaijan of late has released the world’s tallest tower design on an artificial archipelago over oil pipelines. Now Real Madrid, the Spanish soccer super-team has announced its plan to build a luxury resort island in the UAE in partnership with the United Arab Emirates government at a cost of 1 billion dollars. The sports company plans to construct a theme park including a hi-tech museum dedicated to the history of the team, a marina, and an ocean side football stadium with 10,000 seats, luxury villas and two high rise hotels. J+H Boiffils have designed the 430,000 square meter project which is slated to complete by 2015.

Florentino Perez, Real Madrid’s president has been expecting one million fans to visit the UAE resort in the first year of its operation, which is a decisive step to strengthen the organization in the Middle East and Asia. If you are a staunch football fan and you could afford to head over to Real Madrid’s resort in the UAE, and support to make it the world’s most rapidly developing sports icon.

The club need not shoulder all the cost. There is a deal with the government of Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah that it would support part of the bill. With a unique capacity, the club will be given legendary status. It is highly unimaginable for other teams to expand its brand in a luxury market on the same scale.
