Every time you experiment with design you can expect a result that is both unusual and unique. The Pininfarina X-Concept is one of those that has fallen into the category of the weird and the unexplained since the day it has first made its world debut back in 1960. It has been five decades since and people still are both amazed and left wondering when they see this piece of Italian craftsmanship. Now up for grabs on eBay, the X-Concept ones again drives back into the spotlight.
Introduced as a pure design study, the X-Concept took a unique approach to laying the car out, with one, steered wheel up front, two outrigger wheels at the side, and one powered wheel at the back. The idea was to draw out in the form of an X and while it did not catch on as a design the car designed in the 60’s still looks wacky and advanced enough to pass off as an alien carrier!
One of a kind and maybe a blueprint for future cars somewhere down the line (one can never stop hoping), the X-Concept could be yours $800,000. Yup, a bit steep for a failed model; but then some things look grand even when they crash and burn!
