
At an auction held on August 23, Omni Hotels & Resorts beat bidders such as Starwood Capital and picked up the Amelia Island Plantation. This luxury resort is spread across 1,350 acres of lush green property that overlooks the beautiful shores of the Atlantic Ocean. The pristine location has been designated as a sanctuary and a certified Green Lodging Destination by Audubon International.
The resort includes the Amelia Inn that has 249 ocean view guest rooms whereas the Villas of Amelia offer villas with one, two and three bedrooms. For your entertainment, there are 54 holes of golf, a tennis center, a spa to soothe your senses, pools, a shopping village, fitness center and nine restaurants and bars.
