One of the biggest music stars in the U.S, Justin Timberlake has reportedly visited his home state of Tennessee, where the pop star took time to inaugurate Mirimichi Performance Center, which is a part of the Mirimichi golf course in Millington, Tennessee, co-owned by Justin himself. The entire golf course has been re-inaugurated as the venue had been shut down for renovations since the month of January this year. Mirimichi, which stands for ‘place of happy retreat’ was formerly known as the Big Creek golf course and features 72 pars.
The newly renovated Mirimichi golf course has been given a turn around in regards to making it more environment friendly and course has also been given a health sum of wetlands and native plants. This golf course has even had the privilege of being the recipient of GEO (Golf Environmental Organization) Award, that made the Mirimichi golf course, the first “green” golf course. The first phase of the renovation program came with a price tag of $16 million. Now, Mirimichi is looking forward to host a major tournament at the golf course and take the name of the Mirimichi golf course as far as possible.
According to Justin Timberlake,
“When we initially decided to accelerate 3 years of course improvements, we knew we had to come out of the closure with something that our loyal customers and the golf world would celebrate. In looking at what the team accomplished, I am excited about the place we now can claim on the world’s golf stage. Whether a Touring Pro, a local Memphis golfer, a tourist to Memphis or someone of any age learning to play the game of golf, Mirimichi has something for you.”
