Net-a-Porter was the answer to many women’s prayers. It came as a fashion saviour for them. This fashion website now wants to help the men out as well. And so it will be launching another site called Mr Porter exclusively for men in January next year. The first items to be featured will be from the spring/summer 2011 collection of design houses such as Burberry, Ralph Lauren Yves Saint Lauren and Dunhill, plus some specialist brands and style advice to help you out.

The founder Natalie Massenet sold the controlling stakes of the company to the Swiss luxury goods group Richemont for £50m. The company, which started off from a Chelsea basement has now become a roaring business. It has helped women all over the world to buy designer clothes without actually going to their stores. The biggest help was to women who did not live in cities with their stores, as the website also shipped the orders to any part of the world.

Last year, the company came up with a site called Outnet for those who cannot afford the expensive high fashion brands. At this site one can get heavy discounts on those beautiful designer pieces. Mr Porter has promising prospects considering the success of it’s mother website, and also because men, who are known to be lazy when it comes to shopping will be able to do it from the comfort of their home!
