Here is a really high-end and quirky gift idea for Valentine’s Day. German car manufacturer has come up with a chocolate-themed version of its Smart car. The chocolate version was revealed at an event in Tokyo. Japanese tradition involves women gifting chocolates to the men in their life on Valentine’s Day. The chocolate-themed Smart car is a limited edition version that is targeting Valentine’s Day sales.
This car is certainly designed to make anyone’s mouth water. It might just put paid to all those diet resolutions that you had only just made over the New Year. One look at the car and it is sure to set your choco cravings on an all-time high. Done up in all shades chocolate – from deep, dark brown to lighter tones – Mercedes-Benz’ chocolate-themed Smart car has chocolate bar designs occupying its entire frame. From the windows down, the same chocolate gives the appearance of melting into sinful, chocolate gooeyness.
Interested parties can place orders for this unique four-wheeler. Orders started being taken from 2 February and will continue until 13 March. In Japan, 14 March is called “White Day”. It is the day when men give presents to the women who gifted them chocolates on Valentine’s Day. The chocolate-themed Smart car costs 2.36 (m) million yen (about $28,780).
Designed by self-confessed chocolate lover Tadaaki Wakamutsu of Japanese luxury jeweler/chocolatier Q-Pot, the chocolate Smart car is quite the eye-catcher. Wakamatsu revealed that he designed the car hoping that both men and women would drive the car and “spend some sweet time at the wheel”.
