So after a couple of years of hiatus, Maserati is once again unleashing the convertible and while following the Spyder is indeed a tough job, the GranTurismo Convertible seems a successor that is worth the wait. Putting a price on its latest car with retractable roof, Maserati debuted at last year’s Frankfurt Motor Show. Now all set to burn some rubber on US roads, the GranTurismo Convertible will force you to part with $135,800 and some car experts already feel that the whole deal is a bit of a travesty.

But for car enthusiasts who love to down the roof in Florida sunshine and get some wind in the hair, the GranTurismo Convertible provides a great new option indeed. Powered by 4.7-liter V8 found under the hood of the GranTurismo and generating 433 horsepower, the Convertible cousin will allow you to feel the oomph sans the roof.

The Italian car giant has ensured that its traditional design is maintained by incorporating the folding metal hardtop, which also serves the purpose of jamming in more stuff. With the longest available wheelbase on a convertible and its drop-dead gorgeous styling (depending on who you ask, of course), it seems car enthusiasts in US can soon get behind the GranTurismo Convertible’s wheel.
