The Asian markets have played a significant role in helping the global economy from the financial crisis. Even now it is these economies which are driving the growth. As a result the luxury events, workshops and promotions are shifting towards Asia gradually. The Lifestyle & Luxury Tourism Fair 2011 is being held in Malaysia this year from May20 to 22. This is the first time that this event is taking place in this part of the world. The National Tourism Council of Malaysia has taken the initiative to host the event in their country.
The three day fair is going to showcase everything from luxury golf vacations to luxury yachts. In addition there will be workshops as well as some stage performances. The aim of the fair is to promote lifestyle and luxury tourism, travel and experiences especially in the Asian markets. This platform will provide operators of high-end and quality tourism products and service providers an opportunity to promote themselves to the niche target clientele of elite and affluent travelers. The fair has a very exciting format with activities, promotions and programs that include travel fashion, talks and workshop sessions all relating to lifestyle and leisure experiences.
After a decline in international tourism in 2009 a minor growth was recorded in 2010 and the momentum is slowly but surely building up. Most of the luxury tourism operators have seen an increase in their bookings. Asia again is providing the impetus for growth as the spending power of the Asian elite has grown very rapidly in the recent past. This year is sure to witness a significant growth in luxury travel within the Asia Pacific region, particularly to Malaysia, China, Thailand, Singapore, Hong Kong, Vietnam and Australia.
