She has been making waves for her fierce curves. And now Mad Men star Christina Hendricks has been snapped up to be the face of Vivienne Westwood‘s jewellery campaign. Hendricks will be playing poster girl for the designer’s ‘Get A Life’ Palladium Jewellery Collection.
The promotional photos for Vivienne Westwood’s new jewellery collection have the red-headed Hendricks wearing a Palladium chain necklace with a large heart-shaped pendant that bears Gaia inscriptions. Starting March 2011, the new ‘Get A Life’ collection will make its way into Vivienne Westwood outlets in London and Los Angeles. The price pinch for this collection starts from $445 and goes up to about $900.
Hendricks herself has admitted to being a big fan of Vivienne Westwood’s designs. In a statement that she made to Palladium Alliance, the Mad Men star said that she admires how Westwood uses her designs to “inspire change”. Hendricks also added that given how the Palladium pieces sparkle under lights, she could not wait to flaunt the pieces on the red carpet.
One of the newest hotties on the block, Hendricks has been hailed as a positive role model for young girls in a world that is obsessed with the idea that only slim is sexy. However, the praise has been accompanied by brickbats as well, including sharp criticism by a stylist who was quoted by the New York Times for calling the actress a “big girl”.
Over the last few months, rumours have been rife that Hendricks will be playing Wonder Woman on screen. She lost out on the TV role, but Warner Bros. is planning a movie which should release in 2013. Might Hendricks be their choice for the curvaceous superhero?
