For lovers of horseracing, Dubai has a new treat. The city hs unveiled Jumeirah The Meydan, a hotel luxury hotel that runs alongside the popular Nad Al Sheba Racecourse. Housing 285 rooms, Jumeirah The Meydan is located at the centre of Meyden City. The latter is a racing, lifestyle and business destination.
Jumeirah The Meydan has everything that one would look for in a luxury hotel. There is a rooftop bar and pool that offers a wonderful view of the racecourse. There is also a long infinity pool. A rather futuristic-looking crescent-shaped solar panel overhangs the pool adding further style to the view.
The hotel is located some distance away from the shopping and golfing hubs that Dubai is famous for. However, there is still plenty of activities to keep the guests occupied. At the Meydan Grandstand is an IMAX Theatre, only the second one in Dubai. Those with an eye for art, an interest in history and a love for horseracing can stroll over to the Meydan Museum. The museum houses a great display of horseracing history in the Middle East. Yachts can dock along the Meydan Marina on the Dubai Creek for a closer look at the racing. Plus, there is the Wild Wadi Waterpark and a private beach club. Guests have free access to both these.
Of course, what is the point of a hotel along the racecourse if there is no access to the horses. Guests at Jumeirah The Meydan can take behind-the-scenes tours of the track and maybe even meet a few of the racing champions while they are at it.
