LuXplosion 2010: Martha Gaughen Nominated for The Haute Travel Consultants Category

There is a reason why Martha Gaughen has the kind of standing that she does in the travel industry. She has been named a top travel specialist by the two Gods of travel magazines, Conde Nast Traveler and Travel + Leisure magazines for the past 6 years. So why does the best in the industry look up to her? For one, she has a deadly resume that boasts of 20 years of experience as a travel consultant and an advisor for some of the top travel providers in the world.

Martha joined Sterling Travel in 1991 and rose through the ranks to eventually become the owner of the company in 2000. Also, in 1999, Betty Fuller and Margaret Shirley, the owners of Sterling sell it to Martha Gaughen and Betty Case. It is safe to say that there are few who can match her expertise in family, Caribbean and adventure trips. In 2004 Martha Gaughen joined as partner and Vice-President of Leisure Travel. In 2006, her company was chosen as one of the top 5 producers of luxury travel in the nation by Virtuoso. Needless to say, Martha has played a crucial role in bringing Sterling Brownell to its current position. A gem in the travel industry for sure.
