Hadley Freeman has emerged to be one of the prominent names in the world of fashion journalism. With her great insights on fashion, her great writing style, which is invariably infused with humour are probably one of the most important ingredients of her success. As a columnist and writer for The Guardian and frequent contributor to the UK version of Vogue, Freeman obviously has quite a number of readers. And what becomes very clear if you ask their opinion is that all her readers instantly become her fans. Born in New York, she attended St Anne’s College, Oxford University, where she read English Literature and was the editor of Cherwell, a newspaper published for the student at Oxford.
Her book, The Meaning of Sunglasses, was published in 2008, and as she once said in an interview, includes all her rants about fashion. Well, she should know that her rants are considered commandments by some of her fans. Her favourite book, song and drink are Mrs Piggle-Wiggle’s Magic, Waiting for a Star to Fall by Boy Meets Girl, and kir royale respectively, and comes across as a big fan of Marc Jacobs. If you are a fan already then do vote for her, and if you aren’t then read her articles, and I am sure you will come back as fan, and then vote for her.
