Aston Martin Lagonda Limited is the famous British luxury sports car maker has its name derived from one of the company founders Lionel Martin and also after the speed hillclimb called as Aston hill. The company is also known to design cars that are manufactured by Magna Steyr in Austria.
Aston Martin has long remained neck to neck with other luxury wheel makers like Porsche and Ferrari. The company remained a part of Ford Motors between 1994 and 2007 after which it was purchased for £479 million by a joint venture company, headed by David Richards and co-owned by Investment Dar and Adeem Investment of Kuwait and English businessman John Sinders. Ford continued to retain a stake valued over US$77 which brings the valuation of the company to US$925 million.
In 2009, the company had entered into the 2009 Le Mans 24 Hours race as a factory team in the prestigious LMP1 division. The company has an impressive list of wheels up its sleeves.
