If you were tired of visiting real estate agents or browsing through boring website sin order to find out what the price of a particular address is, you are not alone.
Moreover, if you happen to see a building or an apartment and wanted to know how much the price is per square feet, you would again have to knock at the doors of a real estate agent or someone like that. All that might become history if this cool new iPhone app is developed the way it is being promised to be.
Layar, a 10-month-old company based in Amsterdam has developed an application which would use augmented reality in order to harness a phone’s camera and its GPS and compass. Thanks to 3D and other such technologies, all you would need to do is wave your iPhone at a building that you fancy, and the price per square feet would appear on your screen.
There are already 35 applications similar to Layar’s and this none is going to revolutionize the way an iPhone user may shop for his property. Thousands of developers who have created programs for iPhone 3GS and Google’s Android operating system have already shown interest in Layar’s application.
