The Royal Wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton has set the bar high for celebrity weddings. And the wedding after the April event that had the royal trappings was the wedding of Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries that happened on 20th August, 2011. Many described it as a fairy tale wedding. Kim herself took care of the minutest detail and that’s why everything about the wedding was just perfect and princely. The gown for the wedding and the lavish reception were of course above par but the thing that caught everyone’s attention was the purse.
The important accessory was specifically designed for the wedding by a well-known designer handbag maker Judith Lieber. In fact she had created a collection of bags not just for the bride but for the entire Kardashian’s family. Judith Leiber’s radiant crystal clutch complimented the formal floor length Antonio Berardi gown that Kim wore for her wedding. The bag was designed in the shape of a wedding cake and was produced in black and white which was the day’s theme. All the bags in the collection was studded with Judith Leiber crystal monogram with classic block letters.
The exclusive bag was made in the New York City design studio and atelier of Judith Leiber and was decorated with jet crystal baguettes, vintage oval onyx cabachons and small mother of pearl tiles. It was then hand painted for the final finish. The clutches made for the family and the bridesmaid had the initials of their names on the clutch. The bags were handed over to the bride and the family at the rehearsal dinner, a night before the wedding. The purses and the clutches have been priced at $6,995 and $3,000 respectively.
