This was certainly a star-studded exhibit. Swiss luxury watch manufacturer IWC Schaffhausen teamed up with veteran photographer Peter Lindberg to come up with a very special photo exhibition. Named “A Night in Portofino”, the exhibit is something of a tribute to Peter Lindberg’s Portofino.
The exhibition attracted several Hollywood A-Listers. This photography collaboration brought together the likes of Kevin Spacey, Cate Blanchett, Elle Macpherson, Eric Dane, Luis Figo and Matthew Fox. With these celebrities as muses, Lindberg worked at capturing the spirit of the high life while adhering to a Hollywood film set of the 1950s and 1960s through May 2010.
The glittery premier took place at Los Angeles’ Culliver City Studios. Guests first browsed through the gallery of photographs that took contemporary stars and placed them in nostalgia-touched 1950’s-style black-and-white photos. Thereafter, guests were taken to the Portofino harbor. Here guests got to enjoy some fantastic street-style acts. To whet their taste buds there was a range of Italian dishes. And in a fun twist, guests at the event were given the option of dressing up in costumes from the 1960s and posing for photographs.
Several well-known celebrities were spotted at this big-ticket event. Had you been there, you might have bumped into the likes of Sylvester Stallone, Patrick Dempsey, Rebecca Grayheart, Isabel Lucas, Dermot Mulroney and a host of others. If photography and Peter Lindberg interest you, it might please you to know that the exhibition will now be setting out on a world tour. Big cities across the Middle East, Asia and Europe are on its radar.
