One of New York City’s top luxury hotels ‘The Plaza’ seems to be very impressed with iPad that made its way in the hotel circuit.
Featuring the first virtual concierge application, the iPad enables guests to make restaurant reservations, communicate with the concierge, request wake up calls, read New York City destination guides, order room service, make spa appointment, check airline schedules and also print boarding passes.
Also featuring will be multimedia video welcome and the i-Pad will be loaded with applications including newspapers and magazines. It will be available in all the Plaza’s guest rooms and suites with the new ICE Virtual Concierge technology from September of this year.
Shane Krige, the general manager of The Plaza said that over 100 years they have set the standard for luxury and the guests have experienced many firsts since its opening. Luxury if being redefined to not only include actual products but how something enhances an experience or fulfills a need, he added.
The Plaza located at Fifth Avenue, was built in 1907 and is the ultimate luxury lifestyle destination. It was emerged from a recent $450 million transformation to reflect a new and contemporary spirit. The hotel offers 282 distinctive guestrooms including 102 suites and boats of the largest square footage of any luxury hotel.
