Gucci has started taking the web world seriously as they see potential even for high fashion on the net. They have been making a big online push lately. They have created a new “Digital Flagship” store on Gucci.com which will be launched on September 22 to coincide with the Women’s Spring Summer 2011 fashion show in Milan, Italy.
As part of the launch and to make the online experience more exciting for the users, Gucci is holding what they are calling an “e-vent”. It is an interactive concept that allows the online watchers of the show participate in the show itself. They can not only watch the live stream of the show but some select viewers who would be filming themselves on the webcam will be broadcast on the show. To become the lucky participant log on to Gucci Connect.com.
The participant must download the Gucci Connect E-vent Facebook App which has virtual guests creating groups and competing for VIP seating at the e-vent. The winning group whose webcams will be projected during the show, will be announced on September 20. The other e-ticket holders for the e-vent can share their webcams or photos with other virtual guests. The platform is enabled for live chat, Facebook Connect and Twitter. If you can’t be there physically you can be there virtually.
