GBK’s Oscar Gift Lounge Raises Over $40,000 For Charity

The 83rd Academy Awards have just been concluded, and the year’s nominees and presenters have already been treated with the Annual Gift Lounge from GBK (GBK Productions) on 25 and 26 February. Up for grabs were a range of exciting goods and services – from travel packages to luxury goodies. Teri Hatcher, Constantine Maroulis and Kelly Rutherford were among the celebs who availed of the GBK Gift Lounge. However, the lounge also had its heart in the right place. It ended up raising over $40,000 in cash and $90,000 in products and services for the associated charities.

One of the popular fund-raising efforts this year was the GBK ReTweet-A-Thon. Participating celebrities recorded a video asking their Twitter followers to participate in the contest. $100 was donated in the name of each participating guest. The Twitter contest is expected to raise at least $2,000 by the end of the week. The associated charities this year included City of Hope, American Red Cross and A New Way of Life Reentry Project.

The Oscar Gift Lounge included a range of exciting deals including a 7-night health package stay at the Zamani Retreat Kempinski, a week-long holiday in the Caribbean, a weight-loss package from SENSA Weight-Loss System and the Ematic 4GB Video MP3 Player. And that was barely the tip of the iceberg. Guests got styling tips and services from Angus Mitchell, facial spa services from TEI Spa, products from Ziba Beauty and Arbonne, and plenty of high-end fashion and jewellery. Meanwhile, guests could snack on gourmet treats from the likes of Baker Street Bakery, Bota Box and Galloping Cows Fine Food among others. Clearly, gifts from the likes of GBK and Luxury Lounge are tailored to meet the cravings of Hollywood royalty.
