French Hotelier Sofitel Announces Luxury Hotel in Amsterdam

After two year’s of renovation, the legendary property transformed into a hotel and the French owned Sofitel thus inaugurated its iconic hotel for the first time elsewhere in Europe in Amsterdam. The hotel is known as Sofitel Legend the Grand Amsterdam.  This is the first Legend property in Europe and second in the world. The Legend location with the history of hundred years  has been revamped to five-star, ultra luxury Legend brand  which  feature an urban So SPA, sea food restaurant which has received award, fifty two suites and one hundred and seventy seven rooms. Ultra-Legend offers walk in rain showers, and Nespresso machines for the rooms as well as 52 suites have upgraded amenities such as butler service and audio systems called BOSE.

Regarding food, “raw bar”, serves tartars, oysters, lobster, seafood platters and carpaccio, as well as champagne offering two bars, traditional pub fare, and seafood restaurant. It has cultural heritage which served as a venue for the wedding of Queen Beatrix of Netherlands.  Since 1578 till now, The Grand has hosted celebrated actors, authors, heads of state and ambassadors.

French interior architect Sybille de Margerie has redesigned for Sofitel, with the inspiration of artist Karel Appel’s, mural COBRA. For rooms de Margerie has worked together with the students of Eindhoven Design Academy. The suites have separate entrances ensuring privacy. The fitness centre is of high tech featuring hammams, heated pool and two spa baths.

In the near future there are several properties bearing the Legend name, to be renovated in Morocco, Egypt, Colombia and Hanoi.
