Four New Five-Star Hotels To Come Up In Paris in The Coming Months
It can be very confusing when you read so many mixed news about the hotel industry. Last I heard, several hotels in London were going on sale, and now I am hearing that several new hotels are opening in Paris! Yes, four new five-star hotels will be opening in Paris within the next 15 months. The fist one is the Royal Monceau that wasn’t a great hotel previously but has been transformed into one by the celebrated French designer Philippe Starck.
He has tried to recreate French modernity, and this renovation cost almost 100 pounds. Its got it all, the chandeliers, the paintings, the wood work. But the most interesting thing is that each room will have a guitar and one can even get guitar lessons on it! The next one is Shangri-La that will open Avenue d’Iéna, and will ahve stunning view of the Eiffel Tower. Next comes the Mandarin Oriental on Rue Saint-Honoré, and will be very close to the Tuileries gardens and the Louvre.
Work is also going on the old Majestic Hotel on the Avenue Kléber. This new hotel will be walking distance from the Etoile and the Arc de Triomphe, and will be called the Peninsula-Majestic. I can only hope I don’t have to write about their bankruptcy in a few months.
