I.M. Chait’s regular Asian and International Fine Arts Auctions is holding a sale on November 7. It will feature collections of important jade jewelry, diamond rings, luxury brand earrings and men’s watches. There are over 30 pieces of fine antique and contemporary jewelry up for sale. But the piece to look out for is the Imperial Jadeite and Diamond Necklace.
It is a rare piece and one of its kind. Carved in the form of a double gourd, with bat and ruyi Chinese symbols of fortune and wealth, the translucent emerald green jade pendant is surmounted with a cluster of marquise and round diamonds. The necklace is made from white gold to highlight the pendant. The lot number of the exclusive piece is 369 and is expected to go for $25,000 or more.
Lot 365 holds an art Deco style jadeite and diamond ring. The oval jadeite cabochon weighs approximately 5.0 Carats and is surrounded by small round diamonds in a foliate setting. Total weight of the diamonds is approximately 1.0 Carat. The catalog puts the estimate at around $12,000. For men, a Rolex Oyster chronograph in stainless steel and black is a knockout. The lot no. is 385 and estimates are 6 to $8,000.
