A luxury Beverly Hills estate is up for sale and there is a celebrity connection to it as well. Talk Show Host Ellen DeGeneres has put her luxury Beverly Hills estate for sale. She had created this luxury estate through three adjoining purchases. It is a four-structure compound now and DeGeneres had initiated the process of putting it together in 2007. She was lucky in a sense that the properties on the same street agreed to sell out to her. Max Mutchnick, co-creator of the TV series Will & Grace was one of them who sold his house to DeGeneres for $29 million.
The asking price for the luxury property has not been announced but is available on request on the Westside Estate Agency website. Reliable sources in the real estate industry in the area have told the LA Times that the asking price is steep at $49 million. The luxury Beverly Hills estate for sale sits on a lot of three acres and is gated. There is a total of 15,000 square feet of interior space on the estate. The main house has 9,200 square feet of living area. In addition to the main house there are two guest houses and an additional three-bedroom house that can be used as office space or staff quarters.
The outdoor space on the estate has been designed and aesthetically laid out. There is a swimming pool, extensive gardens and koi ponds. The garden got its fair share of publicity when DeGeneres married actress Portia De Rossi in a garden wedding at the compound in 2008. DeGeneres is a big name on TV and her daytime talk show that bears her name has won her 12 Emmys. De Rossi has also worked on television in series like Better Off Ted and Arrested Development and also guest starred on Nip/Tuck.
