Elizabeth Taylor’s Jewelry Collection Goes Up for Sale at Christie’s

Christie’s is well known for celeb auctions of jewelry which will make Elizabeth Taylor’s jewelry collection even more famous. The actress was 79 when she died in Los Angeles with the diagnosis of congestive heart failure. She married eight times to seven men, with enormous admirers.  Among Elizabeth Taylor jewelry collections, she had received a diamond necklace from Michael Jackson. The famous actor husband Richard Burton had presented a beautiful diamond and sapphire studded necklace for 40th birthday in 1972 and also a diamond brooch once owned by the Duchess of Windsor.

The fashion designer Vicky Tiel, who travelled along with the famous couple during their visit to Europe for movie shots, lived for months together in a luxury hotel, describes that Taylor used to carry a white leather bag containing a special jewelries. According to Tiel a few items, which are not very important to history are also on display for the sale.

Online-only auction by Christie’s will  start from Dec 3., where items like flashlight, gold safety pin etc are displayed with starting price tag of $100. The exhibition at Christie’s auction house will be the first and last this time .The entire collection of Elizabeth Taylor has been estimated to be worth of 150 million. Under one roof public can view more than 1000 items such as Jewels, designers hand bags etc. In fact the jewels has been on tour around the world drawing viewers of 10,000 in Moscow and thousands together in Paris and Los Angeles.
