The launch of BLK DNM could spark a change in the way business is conducted within the fashion industry. The label that has just been launched by veteran fashion designer Johan Lindeberg, is set to interact with consumers directly, cutting out the middleman wholesalers and retailers. Lindeberg has launched a website to help carry out this plan. Eliminating the middleman would help customers avail of a massive price advantage of some 30 to 40 percent.
It is to “cater to the more conscious customer” that Lindeberg launched BLK DNM. Interestingly, the new designer brand celebrated the launch of BLKDNM.com by showcasing an exclusive premiere of director Martin De Thurah’s Film 1. The aim of BLK DNM is to engage the customer through an online community and a number of social media initiatives.
But it is not just the presentation that has changed. BLK DNM is ushering in a whole new business model as well. Finally, here is a designer brand that does not focus on releasing collections each season. Instead, Lindeberg’s new venture will work on introducing new garments all through the year.
Twills, cottons, wools and leather, among other fabrics will be used to create modern outfits in a chic yet understated colour palette. Ladies, look out for fine leather jackets, tailored front slit pocket pants and cashmere cardigans with leather elbow patches. For the men there are goodies like long-sleeved poplin dress shirts, five-pocket straight leg jeans and much more.
Prices for tanks and tees from BLK DNM start from $29, while jeans could cost between $129 and $149. Currently, the online store offers free shipping and free returns within a year after the purchase.
