In the olden days people used to sit along a long table to get together, dine, exchange ideas, to make merry and also to spend time leisurely and forget their monotonous routine. Our ancestors’ way of living style influenced and inspired Dirk Wynant to bring those cherished moments to our contemporary days. He has taken the task of bringing people together, and enjoy life more than just manufacturing furniture.
The inspiration has resulted in Extremis, the furniture manufacturing company. Belgian designer Wynants has created “Hoppers” tables which are inspired by elements like fire, water and light.
In Kortrijk, at the Interieur 2010 show, Designer Wynants has exhibited his latest, magnificent Hopper collection. This long table has corresponding outer lines that connect the tabletop to bench seat through the legs of the table. The central units on the top of the table are used to accommodate ice buckets, oil lamps and an awning. Any desired length of the table can be achieved by connecting several tables. It can be used in occasions like social gatherings, marriage or birthday parties.
