Sometime ago I had written about changes in the loyalty program initiated by Leading Hotels of the World. Now, Carlson Hotels has made an announcement. At its global conference in Washinton D.C., Carlson Hotels announced that its Carlson Club loyalty programme will replace goldpoints plus, becoming effective from 31 March 2011.
Under the new Club Carlson loyalty programme, there will be three elite tiers plus a Concierge elite tier for 75 nights per annum. The Concierge elite level is new. It is expected that this tier will include some 4,000 members once the goldpoints plus plan is removed. Guests under the Concierge Elite tier will have several benefits. This would include 75 percent bonus points, an online booking bonus of 3,000 points, plus free breakfast. All Club Carlson members will have the additional benefit of free Internet access at all hotels across North America and in all Radisson properties around the world.
Carlson Hotels has made another modification to its existing loyalty plan, involving elite rollover nights.
The hotels group has also forged new links with Club Med to redeem points at 80 all-inclusive resorts. The group has also tied up with CWT Vacations. Under the latter partnership, members in the United States can redeem their points at several independent hotels and cruises.
A small business loyalty programme has also been launched under Club Carlson’s loyalty programmes. Also being introduced are mobile booking applications. Carlson Hotels has set aside a budget of $10 million for the launch of its new loyalty programme.
