We have been talking about the growing importance of China for the global luxury brands and have been reporting regularly on the increased promotional events and activities to strengthen their presence in China. The luxury market there is growing so fast that there is space for everyone and all the significant brands are cashing in on the situation to make up for the shortfalls they are facing in their traditional markets. Burberry has planned its most innovative event to date to celebrate China.
On April 13, 2011 Burberry will be live streaming British music, technology and fashion globally from Beijing. It is the brain child of Christopher Bailey, Burberry Chief Creative Officer. He says he is privileged to be flying the flag for Britain in the magnificent city of Beijing. The idea behind the event is to celebrate everything Burberry represents today from music, to heritage and innovation and connect to the entire global community. The event will highlight the different facets of brand Burberry. The British Band Keane will headline the event and the Beijing Television Centre will host it.
This event will be the ultimate showcase for Burberry not just in China but all around the world. The grand fashion event will be streamed directly into over 50 retail theatres at Burberry stores globally. The event has been designed by using the technology very innovatively. Virtual image technology will be used to combine live models with animated footage. It promises to be the ultimate audio visual and sensory experience with the physical and the digital coming together. Burberry has recently opened its most technologically advanced flagship store at Sparkle Roll Plaza in Beijing.
