Baselworld 2010: Maurice Lacroix Unveils Pontos Chronographe Rectangulaire

Pontos Chronographe Rectangulaire is an exotic watch that caught my attention immediately. It has a black body and just as they say that black is beautiful, this watch surpasses all expectations of beauty when it comes to watches. Maurice Lacroix knows that sophisticated French names would always have an effect on Anglo Saxons who suffer from an inferiority complex.

This distinctively black watch would come with blank hands and a velvety black dial. The strap is made of good quality rubber and black ceramic. It is one of those “monochrome chic” that works well for me, but most people into bling may not like it. This is a serious 25-jewel, 28,800 vib/h watch that could be given the prize for a design competition.

It comes with a 48 hour power reserve and could very well be what you had been looking for all these years, but did not find in those diamond and gold studded gaudy watches. It is fashionable, stylish and minimalist. If you are not into black, or if you are not into artful designs, you certainly would not like this watch.

Baselworld 2010 is scheduled from 18-25 March.
