Auction House Phillips de Pury Releases New Insights Into The All New Halsey Minor Collection

One of New York’s most prestigious auction houses, Phillips de Pury has now released an all new insight into its upcoming auction event of the all new Halsey Minor collection, that is slated to be held on June 9th, 2010. This new sale will be offering additional works from the personal collection of CNET Networks founder, Mr. Halsey Minor. A previous auction of Mr. Minor’s collection completed by Phillips de Pury fetched in a whopping $21,049,050.

Mr. Minor is known to have an exquisite and marvelous arts collection that includes work from contemporary designers such as the likes of Marc Newson, Martin Szekely, Jasper Morrison, Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec, Paul Dupré-Lafon, Jean Royère, and Diego Giacometti. One of the most prized possessions of Mr. Minor, that is going under the hammer is an important early Pod of Drawers, 1987, by Newson. This one of a kind chest is known to be one the most early works of the designer and is expected to bring in $300,000-400,000. Another legendary piece of art ‘Chandigarh’ is also being auctioned off. This item is a model city project that was commissioned by the Prime Minister of India, Jawaharlal Nehru after India gained independence. The project was awarded to Swiss architects and designers Le Corbusier and his cousin Pierre Jeanneret.
