Art Basel at Miami Beach Attracts Celberities from Far and Wide

The art show at Art Basel, Miami Beach was organized between December 2 and 5th, 2010. This was the 41st year’s celebration of the reputed art show worldwide. The event is an occasion for celebrities to come together and share their love for art with the art lovers themselves.

The show being a branch of Switzerland’s Art Basel, attracts many artists to take part in exhibitions and parties featuring design, architecture, film, and music. The exhibition sites will be within walking distance from the hotels and beach. The art show consists of more than 250 selected art galleries from all the continents such as Africa, Europe, Asia and Americas, exhibiting the works of more than 2000 artists of twentieth and twenty first centuries. These prestigious galleries feature video art, public art projects, and also performance art. These help art lovers to explore advanced contemporary art and evaluate rare calibre art.

Naomi Campbell and Danny Glover launched the event and Julian Lennon, the famous musician turned photographer with his theme “timeless” a collection of landscape and portraiture photograph also enlivened the atmosphere with his sweet tunes. The cost of a day ticket is $36. The cost guided tour with an art critic per hour $20. Of course, there is just a day left, but if you are near NYC, you could visit!
