The fling or the affair was rather unusual but the result was most satisfying and beneficial. Yes we are talking about the fling that fizzled between rocker Chrissie Hynde and a song writer almost half her age. And the wonderful result was a new band, an autobiographical album and an eco conscious clothing line.
JP Jones, a Welsh singer met Hynde, the 58 year old front woman of the legendary rock group Pretenders, at a party two years ago and they gelled so well together that they went away to Cuba for some time where they wrote all the songs for “Fidelity” their new album recorded by the new band Chrissie & the Fairground Boys. Jones who is 33 is the subject of the album’s opening track – “Perfect Lover”. The song talks about finding the perfect lover who is only half her age.
Their affair, so to say, is not limited to songs and band but they are joining forces for another project, an environmentally friendly clothing line called Fairground Luck. The duo intends to offer styles and looks that appeals to musicians and rockers. There will be T shirts, skinny jeans, jackets, handbags and cowboy boots. There will be no animal skin used in any of the garment because Hynde is a People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals activist and a vegetarian
